About this app

CBT-i Coach is for people who are engaged in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia with a health provider, or who have experienced symptoms of insomnia and would like to improve their sleep habits. The app will guide you through the process of learning about sleep, developing positive sleep routines, and improving your sleep environment. It provides a structured program that teaches strategies proven to improve sleep and help alleviate symptoms of insomnia.

CBT-i Coach is intended to augment face-to-face care with a healthcare professional. It can be used on its own, but it is not intended to replace therapy for those who need it.

CBT-i Coach is based on the therapy manual, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia in Veterans, by Rachel Manber, Ph.D., Leah Friedman, Ph.D., Colleen Carney, Ph.D., Jack Edinger, Ph.D., Dana Epstein, Ph.D., Patricia Haynes, Ph.D., Wilfred Pigeon, Ph.D. and Allison Siebern, Ph.D. CBT-i has been shown to be efficacious for insomnia for both Veterans and civilians.

CBT-i Coach was a collaborative effort between VA’s National Center for PTSD, Stanford School of Medicine, and DoD’s National Center for Telehealth and Technology.

Simple and easy app to keep track of sleep. also includes exercises to help you relax, tips for common sleep problems, and quizzes to help you reveal where you are, sleep-wise. Makes it easy to show medical providers your sleep trends, and also, easy-to-read graphs help you identify your own sleep-patterns. I've used this in a couple Cbt-i group therapies. Simplifies the whole process. This app was recommended to me by several doctors over the years. And the price helps me sleep easy.

Overall a good app, I mostly use the sleep diary. However: 1)it graphs only to 12 hours which isn't enough for me (I have long covid and I'm sleeping excessively) and 2)you can't edit the diary. I put in AM instead of PM and it thinks I slept much less than I did and I can't edit it. 3)i didn't do yesterday and there's no way to input past days even though I could read them from my watch.

the sounds that are supposed to help you sleep are playing on a loop. if you set the timer for an hour you don't get an hour of the chosen sound. It literally stops and restarts multiple times during that hour. when it does my brain also restarts and I'm wide awake. I start drifting off to sleep...the sound stops and restarts...and the cycle continues. I'm writing this at 2am and have to get up at 5am to go to work. I've gotten zero sleep.
