I have enjoyed the game for years . In the last year the proliferation of new portals (many of which are inaccessible to general public) and the fact that "the machina" seems to me to have gotten out of hand and often has those inaccessible portals, my enjoyment of the game is diminished. Hopefully this will be addressed soon. This post was made 03/25. Niantic does change game play from time to time. In my opinion most of the changes have been for the better .

It's not as much fun as it was a few years ago. The game is basically broken if you play honestly because Niantic won't ban cheaters edit, two years later: Niantic still hasn't done anything noticeable about the cheating problem, and the user base is dwindling even further. But, hey, if playing 80 alt accounts and location spoofing is your idea of a good time, this may be the game for you. The powers that be won't stop you. They don't care.

I loved this game. Really, loved it, had been getting tons of exercise out of it, was actually planning to make my first purchase today ($15 to increase inventory space so I can keep growing my portal key collection). Then they rolled out this new version, a horrible and confusing interface that my phone struggles to render. My battery drains nearly 3x faster now. The game is, as currently on the app store, not something I will play. I'm very sad to see this game go, because I was really loving it -- two days ago I would haven given it 5 stars, I was actively encouraging friends to give it a try. Today, that's not the case at all.
