Seemed like it would be a fun fake Pokémon game to pass time. Didn't take long to delete. Microtransactions and predatory catching systems are immediately obvious. They give you one single "master ball" at the beginning. They then immediately force you to use it to catch a low level beginner mon that you'll never use. If you want more, you have to buy them with real money. I beat the 1st gym and threw every regular ball I had saved(19!!) at a 1hp lvl 6 mon and it broke out of every single one

Both this game and its sequel are probably the best games I have ever played. The characters' dialogue is interesting/funny, and the monster fighting isn't the kind that makes you throw your phone across the room out of frustration. It was an absolutely enjoyable experience for me. Paying the game for the full version/no ads was absolutely worth it. Problems: One of the fights against the wardens was not counted, so now I can't get the wind warden? Also, upload to the cloud is not working?

I've always been a fan of monsterthon games like Pokemon, I don't always expect to find a cheap "Pokemon clone" on an app store that turns out to be pure gold. The UI was simple and eye catching, the character dialogue was meaningful when it had to be but the jokes were surprisingly funny as well. The whole idea of "overseers" instead of gym leaders is SO MUCH better, and the twists in the storyline were mind-blowing! The game is also way longer than a pokemon game. SET a new bar for the genre.
